Ecli Embedded Command Line Interface

Embedded Command Line Interface is interactive tool that provides access to the embedded device. The Embedded CLI (ECLI) is a RTOS (Real Time Operating System) independent rich set of API's and library that can be used in building a CLI for a product. The Embedded CLI (ECLI) package takes embedded device requirement document as input and generates the functional Embedded CLI (ECLI) code using advanced scripts. The ECLI code generated is independent of the RTOS (Real Time Operating System) used. Command Based Interface is a straightforward way, in which the user response to a visual prompt by typing a command on a specified line. Embedded Database Interface (EDBI) Library provides a generic interface for performing read / write operations on an Embedded Device. The EDBI can interface with any higher layer applications such as Telnet, SNMP GUI, or CLI's. It integrates seamlessly with Embedded CLI Package (ECLI). EDBI Library is designed to work seamlessly with SNMP sets / gets requests that are commercially available with SNMP compilers. The data is stored in a table format allowing easy maintenance on NVRAM or Flash type of devices. The embedded DBMS are typically used in the mobile phones, PDAs, set-top boxes, switches, router etc. Most of these systems have the ability to be remotely configured through a command line and/or browser interface, then need of EDBI for storage of configuration information is necessary. Key Features of Embedded CLI (ECLI) are: Small footprint with a sophisticated reusable design. Customizable and easy to use application. Accessible via Telnet or Serial console. Output formatting for customized data representation. Standard ANSI C based code, making it processor portable. Works without or with an RTOS such as VxWorks, RTLinux, Nucleus, Monta Vista, etc.
