The internet is probably the fastest growing phenomenon ever. Every day more and more people access the internet. With the popularity in internet access on the rise people have been taking to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter to communicate with one another. This being said people are now looking to have higher speeds of internet to keep up with the demand of media and things such as video viewing. So what are some of the ways that we can still access the internet, let's take a look at a few.
Dial UpWe all remember the days of dial up when our computers used to take hours to connect. As well as this the time that you could spend online was limited due to the fact that the dial up connection interfered with the home phone line, so you literally could not call anyone.
BroadbandWhen broadband first hit the market it was an absolute miracle. People could literally stay connected to the internet all day. Then the unlimited plans released and people could surf online all day for a fixed fee and this is when the internet really stepped up to the next level. With connections being fast enough to share files, images and media.
WirelessPublic wireless access points are great. Mobile phones are evolving and the phone networks internet connection is simply not fast enough. So with the current smart phones you are now able to log onto any open wireless network.
Mobile BroadbandOne of the main problems with owning a laptop or a notebook was still the fact that you had to be at home to connect to the internet or be next to an open wireless resource. Mobile broadband has changed all of this and you can now access the internet on the move. The only problem is that they can still be slow at times.
Fiber Optic BroadbandThe new generation of broadband is only around the corner, as mentioned before the internet is developing and we need faster and faster speeds to help. Fiber optic cables do exactly that, they allow us to access the internet at tremendous speeds.
All in all I think if mobile broadband can get faster and appeal to all users then that the way the internet will move forwards and progress at a much faster rate. People want to be able to actually go on the internet on the move, not be stuck in one place.
