39 Points License

it's easy to get frustrated if you get points on your licence, as the loss of the licence could impact greatly on your life; meaning that you would have to rely on lifts and other forms of public transport to get from a to b quickly and easily. Some people who lose their licence never re apply for it after the time has passed, so worried that they will get reliant on that small scrap of card.

So it comes as a bit of a shocker to the motorist to find that there is a driver in Swindon who is driving around with three times the amount of points on his licence, and yet has not received the bam that most people receive for going over the allocated twelve points. If you get to this amount it normally equates to at least a six month ban for a driver, unless there are extenuating circumstances that they can plea at trial. Some drivers will also have to attend a driving school at this point if their driving habits have been deemed unsafe.

The whole point of bans when driving is to ensure that people toe the line and drive safely on the roads, so this has caused road safety campaigns like Brake to beg for an instant ban for the driver.

The information was revealed in a Freedom of Information request to the DVLA, but the body will not reveal what the crimes that caused the gaining of the points are. Safety charities believe that whatever the points were accrued for, the driver should be banned. They went on to say that anyone with twelve or more points on their licence should be banned for longer than the current period to ensure that people were less likely to speed and partake in other crimes on the roads.

If you are caught speeding or committing any other driving mistakes then you will receive points on your licence and you may find that your Car Insurance premium is hiked up as a result. Go online to Compare Car Insurance to save some money.
