Wireless Internet connection is now accessible anywhere. From cafes to bus stops, sometimes even while on the go, having Internet access where ever possible is the level of normalcy we all live in at the moment. Gone are the days where people wait hours for one picture to load. We said goodbye to the times where Internet users had to dial up using the phone line to connect to a very slow Internet connection. Now that having a wireless broadband connection is a must-have, Belkin offers a wide range of routers for the market; so wide that you actually need to choose the type of router you need before choosing a model. Belkin wireless modem routers come in different flavors, and three of them are listed below.
The G router is a Belkin wireless router that allows you to have a basic broadband connection along with the ability to network various computers without the use of wires or cables. The 802.11g technology allows easy access to anything on the network such as CD-ROMs, printers and hard drives. This router has five times the speed of ordinary Wi-Fi and has an integrated 4-port 10baseT Ethernet control that allows you to connect to computers wired to the network.
The N router offers the ability to connect your DSL or cable modem to itself, giving you the opportunity to allow access to the Internet. This Belkin modem router has a very fast speed compared to the G router, and has a reliable coverage area. You can easily share files with other people in the network as it has a good signal range plus it is very easy to install.
Finally, a Belkin router in the N+ series is, as you may have noticed, is the upgrade of the N router. The N+ router has everything the G and N routers have, including 4GB Ethernet, VPN and MIMO support, WEP, WPA and WPA2 security. Storage sharing can also be done with the USB expansion. Other external devices can be linked having slots for WAN and DSL or Cable modem. A drawback though, this Belkin router does not allow printer sharing.
There are other types of routers out there in the market, but a Belkin wireless modem router can be your best bet in surviving the fast-paced internet-driven life we all live in.
